Team member in the spotlight – Nicole Walters

  • Team member in the spotlight

In this series we’re spotlighting a different MWM team member each month, so you can get to know the team a little better.

Say hello to Data Analytics Manager, Nicole Walters.

“What I really like about working at MWM advisory, is that we are a forward-thinking firm with a clear focus on client outcomes. I also enjoy the collaborative environment here, as it provides the right measures of trust and support for our teams to develop and meet challenges head-on. We are always at our best when working closely with our clients to help them achieve their business, financial and lifestyle goals.”

Tell us a bit about your role…

As a Data Analytics (DA) team manager, I am responsible (in collaboration) for the most talented and dedicated team of bookkeepers that offer more than just “numbers” support to our clients.

The DA team is more of a ‘business support service’ responsible for everything from understanding software that will not only support but streamline processes for our clients to create day-to-day efficiencies,  assisting them to gain an understanding their financials in MWM Advisory’s CFO for a Day offering.

What is the most challenging aspect of your job?

Understanding client’s needs in an ever-changing environment.

In this dynamic world of technological change, machine learning and artificial intelligence, the transformation taking place in the environment in which our clients trade is relentless.

Understanding and embracing those changes are key to assisting our clients with implementing the best solutions for their businesses.

    What inspires you?

The philosophy of yoga and yoga practice. Most people are not aware of the eight limbs of yoga. Your body doesn’t need to be flexible, just your mind.

If you could travel to one place in the world, where would it be and why?

Portugal. My Mum has just returned from a trip there, and every moment was a ‘Kodak’ moment (not even sure that’s a valid reference anymore!). From her experience the people, the food, the wine and the culture are definitely worth exploring one day.

The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is …..

“Nothing is permanent.” The Dalai Lama

What do you enjoy the most about working at MWM?

The people. The team at MWM are a diverse and interesting group of talent, that come together to share knowledge and experiences to the benefit of each other and our clients.

We especially enjoy celebrating our end of year milestones together, both end of financial and calendar years.
